Scholarships
Situation
• Poor parents are desperate. Survival supersedes education when it comes to their children. Children are ashamed to go to school without books.
• The children of poor families are obliged to work as much as their parents with occasional jobs, though under the legal age-limit for work.
• Most jobs children work do not secure any prospective or provide them with skills for the future.
• Two decades ago under communism, almost all of the higher education was available to almost anyone and was free. Every year, more and more universities and colleges become self-supporting and profit-making, requiring students have to pay for their education.
• Poor students who grow up used to inadequate nutrition and very modest living conditions in the country side cannot handle tuition, accommodation and meals in university cities.![]()
• While education is a necessity, it has become a luxury.
Perspective
• To extend higher education in the direction of the less fortunate is to offer them opportunity not otherwise available.
• Education is basic for a better change for finding a job, being independent and self-providing. Scholarship students go onto greater success.
• An educate person contributes more to a society and is able to find a lawful occupation in their own country
