"Reaching people for Christ: helping thousands of people out of poverty into a sustainable future"

Vladut's Story

Why Give a Backpack?

Vladut's life has changed!

Vladut Story

Compared to the sickly quiet boy who first arrived at the center, Vladut can now express his feelings and opinions, he has more confidence, and he has even said when he is older that he wants to become a pastor! This change has only been possible through him feeling valued and supported.

Living in an isolated rural Roma village in Romania, chances in life have been very limited for him and his family. Here, no value is placed on education and a cycle of poverty and hopelessness has reigned for generations.

Mission Without Borders, through the local church, supports an After School project which aims to break this cycle. Our Romanian team do this by placing education at the center of everything.

Due to the support of donors, Vladut has been given a new backpack and school supplies, and has a place to have a hot meal, do his homework, have fun and learn about Christian living.

His parents now also attend church and while life is still a huge struggle, their dignity has been restored and they have hope for the future.

Education is the most important single factor for long-term sustainable development for a child, its family and its community.

Mission Without Borders is committed to helping thousands of children, like Vladut, to break out of the cycle of poverty in struggling communities across Eastern Europe every year.

There are three ways that by donating a backpack to children like Vladut you will make a difference:

  1. You will help children like Vladut to fulfill their potential
  2. You will contribute to making an impact on vulnerable families and communities
  3. You will be part of God's plan to tackle injustice in Eastern Europe
