Scholarship - Time to Study

Lidia -surdu .thumbnailLidia Surdu is a Romanian teenager from our Family-To-Family program who will graduate from high school this summer and is dreaming about going to university and working in the food industry.

She comes from a large family. She has eight siblings. Her father passed away last October, after suffering nine years of laryngeal and lung cancer.

Her mother works as a cleaning lady at a school. Their income is very low, consisting of the mother's salary, an inheritance pension.

Because the family lives in the countryside, Lidia must commute to Sibiu, the nearest city, every day.

Recently Lidia received a Mission Without Borders scholarship for transportation which covers her commuting costs.

The scholarship enables her to attend school every day. Scholarships are a long-term investment and make a significant difference in the lives the recipients.
